TOMATO KOOTU


Recipe Name: TOMATO KOOTU


Description

Toor day - 1 cup, Green Tomatos -6 or 7, Red chillies - 6, Cumin Seeds
- 1 tsp, Coarsed coconut - 1 cup, mustard seeds - 1 tsp, urad dal - 1
tsp and coconut oil - 1 tsp, turmeric - A pinch, Salt.

First grind 3/4th cup of coconut, cumin seeds, and red chillies into a
fine paste.

Boil the toor daal with a pinch of turmeric and green tomatos.

Add the fine paste with the boiled toor dal and add salt. When it
boils, keep it aside.

Take a small pan and add some oil. When the oil is hot, add the
mustard seeds, 1 red chili, & urad dal. When it starts crackle, mix it
with your kootu.

Finally use the same pan, and fry the leftover cocnut until it turns
light brown and add it with your kootu.

You can eat this tomato kootu with Chappatis or Rice.

If you like spicy kootu, you can add more red chillies when you make the paste.
